| (L-R) Ms. Clayticia Daniel, Ms. Hydeia Tyson, Ms. Shareisa Sutton, Ms. Vikelia Hicks and Ms. Deslyn Dore | Five students of the Gingerland Secondary School (GSS) on Saturday July 12, 2008, participated in a pageant at the Gingerland Primary School grounds to commemorate their school's 35 th anniversary. While the participants paid special attention to eradicating crime and violence, it was Form 5A2 student Ms. Deslyn Dore who was the overall winner. Ms. Dore also received awards for Best Talent and Best Promotional Speech.
Ms. Hydeia Tyson of Form 2A2 placed1st Runner-up and won the Best Evening Wear award while Vikelia Hicks of Form 4A2 placed 2nd Runner-up.
The pageant was an initiative taken by the school's Junior Achievers of Form 4A2 under the leadership of Ms. Rondee Pinney.
The other contestants were Ms. Clayticia Daniel and Ms. Shareisa Sutton of Forms 1A1 and 3A1 respectively.
The event was sponsored by businesses and businessmen from the Gingerland area including Jr. Minister of Communications, Works, Public Utilities and Post Hon. Carlisle Powell.
